COVID-19 Approach for the 2021 Spring Season

Mayfield Soccer Club will adhere to all CDC and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) guidelines as it relates to COVID-19. As the guidelines can vary from day to day, we will do our best adapt to the changing environment with the safety of all players, coaches, and parents as our top priority.

The following protocol will be in place  (as of 2/7/2021):

Players/Coaches

  • Masks are required to be worn by players up until the start of all games and practices. Once games and practices start, they will no longer be required
  • For coaches, it is highly recommended that they wear a mask at all times
  • Parents are responsible for ensuring their children are not putting others at risk. If any of the following are true, do not send your child to soccer:
    • They have had close contact  in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19
    • They have experienced the following symptoms in the past 48 hours: fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or felt sick
    • They are currently quarantined due to possible exposure
  • Each player is expected to bring their own ball and water (no sharing of equipment or water)
  • Throw-ins will be minimized whenever possible
  • Proper spacing of bags and equipment on the sideline to support social distancing
  • No benches. Players will spaced appropriately when not in the game and between periods
  • No handshake lines after games
  • No team huddles, high fives, fist bumps, hugs

Families/Spectators

  • Masks are required during all games
  • Six-feet social distancing must be maintained between families during games
  • Limit the number of spectators per child as much as possible to ensure proper distancing on the sidelines
