Wildcat League Reffing Information
The MSC Wildcat League is reffed by current/former players from our community. This is a great opportunity for young players to deepen their connection with the sport and help pay it forward to the next generation.
Those interested in reffing in the upcoming season should be aware of the following requirements/guidelines.
- Must be currently enrolled in at least 6th grade
- Must be familiar with the sport of soccer, and ideally will have played for at least 5 years.
- Must treat this as a job, by showing up on time and ready to work when scheduled.
- Must be able to communicate professionally, including timely responses to email/phone messages with league commissioner. Parents are welcome to assist in the onboarding process, but after that refs must be able to communicate directly as needed.
- Ideally, will be a current/former player of the MSC though exceptions can be made
If you have a child interested in joining our pool of refs, please have them apply by sending an email to Wildcat Director, Ted Riolo. This email should include a short introduction and follow with their soccer background as well as a little bit about themselves.
We use a scheduling tool that allows for all refs to sign up for the games they are interested in working. This also tracks their time and enables a timesheet which is used to pay them at least twice a season by mail. Refs are provided with a shirt, whistle and if necessary a watch to use during games.
