Soccer Cubs
Program Overview
Our Soccer Cubs Program is designed to instill in our youngest players a sense of enthusiasm, self-confidence, good sportsmanship, and teamwork by emphasizing the game's basic fundamentals. Boys and girls currently enrolled in Pre-K or Kindergarten (or age 4 by August 31, 2026) are eligible.
Each week's session includes a skills session led by Mayfield Heights Boys and Girls Varsity players, with instruction from Cubs Director - Coach Emily, followed by a short guided scrimmage on a smaller field using pop-up goals without goalies. Teams rotate through several skill stations covering the foundations of organized soccer: dribbling, passing, trapping, and shooting.
Players are placed onto a team, take part in a combined practice session, then break back into their teams for a scrimmage on an age-appropriate field.
Fall 2026
Season Details
The Fall season will start on September 19th 2026 and end October 31st. Sessions will take place Saturday mornings starting at 8:00am in Mayfield Village, alongside our Wildcat League.
What to Bring
Players are provided with a jersey and matching soccer socks, but will need to provide their own shin guards.
While shin guards are required, cleats are only encouraged. We provide size 3 soccer balls for everyone, so leave yours at home if you have one.
We'll take water breaks throughout the session, so bring a water bottle.
